A Half Year
Written by William McCargo of Charlotte County

The life as a young black man in the South, in the 60's was always a struggle to find a place in the Social Scheme of a democratic society. The 2nd of eight siblings of a share crop farmer living in a three room shack with no plumbing was always a task in seeking a better future. Seventeen of age, in high school, married with a child and wife made the future bleak. The odds of going to college was one in a million, William McCargo became that blessed one. Society dictated during this area of time; a black youth would drop out of school and find work. But he graduated from college as a teacher in 1974 and began writing a diary. Now he has written his book 36 years later, and is currently teaching at Randolph-Henry High School in Charlotte County, Virginia.
This 36 page book is available to you for $10.00 which includes taxes, shipping and handling.
